Green Turtle Mother, Fraser Island

This female Green turtle had just spent the last few hours laying her eggs in an area that required a difficult climb up a steep sand dune. When I came across her I could see she was totally exhausted and every step looked to take a heavy toll. I imagine the weightless sanctuary of the ocean must have been a greatrelief for this new mother.
